Wedding Nights in Islam Urdu

The main marriage ceremony is conducted by a Maulvi, with men and women seated around the bride and groom. The bride’s father is known as the Wali, and the groom's family presents the bride with a Mehr to ensure her agreement. Following this, the Maulvi recites prayers from the Quran.

Mangni

The ritual of exchanging wedding rings, also known as Mangni, is a tradition that is practiced in Muslim culture. It signifies a lifetime commitment to one's partner. It also represents the circle of life and the union of two souls.

The ceremony of Mangni is traditionally performed by the families of the bride and groom. In addition to rings, the bride and groom exchange gifts, such as engagement rings. The bride's family also presents gifts to the groom. The bride is then wrapped in an ornate chunni.

In the Muslim religion, the bride and groom are surrounded by family and friends. A maulvi recites verses from the Holy Quran to seal the marriage. In addition to the marriage vows, the Maulvi reads a prayer for the bride and groom. In addition, the Maulvi asks the bride if she consents to the marriage, and the bride replies "Yes" three times. Then the couple signs a marriage contract, known as the Nikahnama.

The Mangni ceremony takes place two to three days before the wedding night. It is considered one of the most exciting ceremonies of the Muslim wedding. During this ceremony, family and friends apply a paste of fresh turmeric to the bride's skin to add a natural glow to her skin. The bride also has beautiful Arabic Mehndi designs drawn on her hands. The bride's mother usually applies the first dot of henna on her palm. Other family members also get henna designs painted on their hands.

Rukhsati

Rukhsati on wedding night in Islam is a symbolic act that concludes the wedding ceremony. During this ritual, the bride and groom are separated from their families. This symbolic act is a bittersweet parting for the bride and groom as this is a final goodbye to her childhood and parents and the start of their new life together.

The marriage ceremony is followed by a walima, a meal that is celebrated after the ceremony. This meal symbolizes the future happiness of the newlywed couple. It is an essential part of Islam and is celebrated with much joy. Traditionally, this meal is held at the home of the bride and groom, but it is increasingly being held at hotels, restaurants, and marriage halls.

The groom's family also throws rose petals at the bride's family. The bride's family then sits with the groom and his family. The wedding ceremony itself is filled with small rituals, such as the kursi ki rasam.

Manjha

The traditional Muslim wedding ceremony begins with a religious discourse, called Khutba, by the Maulvi. Men and women sit in a circle around the bride and groom, and the bride's father is the Wali of the bride. The groom's family then offers a sum of money to the bride's family, known as Mehr, to obtain the bride's consent. A contract is then signed between the bride and groom.

During the Manjha ritual, the groom's mother visits the bride's home and brings her sweets, as well as a gold or silver coin wrapped in a silk cloth, to be placed on the bride's hand. The ceremony also includes a ring exchange, during which the boy and girl exchange their rings and gifts. The bride-to-be wears yellow clothing and is covered in turmeric paste. She is not allowed to leave her house until her wedding day.

The bride and groom also share a special mirror that will enable them to see each other for the first time. The bride and groom will look in the mirror to ensure that they are indeed married. They will also be introduced to their immediate family and friends at the wedding reception. They will be lavishly showered with gifts and blessings, as they are now a part of the community.

Men typically wear turbans and dopattas, but young women often don't.

The ceremony also includes a first look ritual. A mirror is placed between the groom and bride. A copy of the Holy Quran is placed on the mirror, and the bride and groom must look at each other in the mirror to see their reflections. After the ceremony, the bride and groom sign a document called a Nikahnama, which spells out the responsibilities and rites of the groom and bride.
